Just a reminder: Glass-Stiegel was undone by Gramm-LEACH-Bliley
For all those who still think that there are some "good" republicans and Jim Leach was one.
Once the internet became available, it became clear that the Jim Leach written up in the paper was a different Jim Leach that actually existed in Washington.
So today when all the talk is about Glass-Stiegel and Gramm-Leach-Bliley, I am reminded once again of my former representatives role in undoing the law that was the dam that held back the torrent of greed for at least a while.

1. Exactly,
I remember pointing this out to a repub before the election. She heard on some radio show that this was all Clinton's fault for repealing G-S. I pointed out that it was one of our guys and McCain's economic adviser that wrote the repeal.

Then to add insult to injury  I told her I was glad to hear that she would like to go back to tighter regulation of the banking industry. That ended our conversation.
