Hey, Michigan guy, thanks, but no thanks!
Over zealous, young Michigan Democratic Party staffer riles Iowa woman, slurs Postal Service.

Meanwhile, allegations of voter suppression continued. Since early voting began in Iowa a week ago, some people have complained about phone calls telling them to rip up their ballots, or making them fear that fraud might occur if they give their ballots to the wrong courier.

Dorothy Hulgan, 73, an Ankeny Democrat, said Wednesday that she got a call from Michigan warning her against mailing in her postage-paid ballot.

"He got on the rude side, said it's costing your county money," she said. "He said sometimes our postal service loses our mail. I just got mad and hung up on him."

John McCormally, a spokesman for the Iowa Democratic Party, confirmed the call came from a "low-level staff person" who made the call with his Big Rapids, Mich., cell phone. The staffer, who said he was only trying to convey that couriers can deliver a ballot faster, has since been told not to discourage mailing ballots in, McCormally said.

Look, I know the kid meant well but, hey Mich. Dems, keep him away from the phones! And as a retired postal employee, in my opinion, the young man slandered one of the most honest, dedicated and scrupulous groups of men and women in the United States, not to mention patriotic and politically aware and active. For his information postage due envelops are given special handling and absentee ballot are give priority. The USPS processes millions of pieces of mail daily and the number lost is minuscule.
