Got an invite (and phone message from Mr Edwards) about a fundraiser for Paul Shomshor in Council Bluffs. http://www3.legis.state.ia.us/ga/member.do?id=319&ga=81

Here's the thing. I'd love to go, but ultimately they want this stuff: $$$$$$. And that's in really short supply at the moment. So, is it bad manners to go to a State Reps house with only moral support and volunteer time to offer?

Getting to meet the should-be Vice-President wouldn't be all bad either. ;-)

I had to pass up a Feingold visit last month due to the same reason.

And how the hell does Shomshor have all these connections?! First Kerry and now Edwards stump for him. Sheesh!

It's also a good way to get a few moments with the keynote. :)

Offer to do set-up or clean-up after the event or whatever your talents are. We are Dems, afterall, and *should* understand that not all of our membership can afford $10-100 a ticket.
