just got back from north

WOW forgot what a good snowstorm really is. Been living on the coast to long. the ole airline has nearly had me several times. I remember one new years eve when it was snowing, sleeting, raining and thunder and lighting. another time I was pushing snow drifting in some places up to the hood of my buick electra 225! another time I had to send A FRONT END LOADER TO OPEN RTE #1 FROM CALAIS TO THE THE JCT OF RTE9 BECAUSE THE STATE TRUCKS HAD BROKE DOWN.
Or the nite we plowed rte1 to perry to open a path for a bus to get its passengers to a motel in calais.(THAT WAS A BLIZZARD)
That same nite we covered a plow rte in town with 2 pick ups! I'm sure the ambulance driver
remembers that nite. I think of what a friend that town has in him. and of the fishing trip on west grand(ice fishing @25 below) apricot brandy. that was the coldest but best day off I ever took. ha ha gene I hope your still enjoying life!
they had 25" of snow on day hill!we had about 10 on the mid- coast.

1. One time my car was behind a plow on the turnpike from Kennebunk to Portland
That was an interesting ride. There was about 18" of snow on the ground and I don't think the road would have been passable ahead of the plow.

I miss a good snowstorm.

2. Merry "Chirstmas" Democrats

Just got back from Calais, chanced upon Young Billy while shopping at Johnson's and we reminisced about the good old days. Heading for home, I took a ride down Garfield Street for old times sake, plus it offers the best view of the beautiful xmas tree atop a crane boom that towers over the city every year.

(How the hell my posting this riveting bit of information on the Maine Forum instead of The Lounge will help win seats for Maine Democrats totally escapes me but apparently it is accepted practice!)
