Memorial Day Week-end, and Cape Cod was DEAD, compared to years past.
No lines of traffic on the main thoroughfares. No wait for a table for four at any restaurant. No packed parking lots at the movie theatres. No "No Vacancy" signs on the little B&B's that dot Rte. 6A.
3. Seems like a lot of people chose to go nowhere on Memorial Day but, instead,
did things around their neighborhood or worked on their yard, etc.
I think things will pick up as the summer progresses because a lot of people are going to drive to a vacation spot rather than fly (if they go at all). At least, this is what I'm hearing around town.
