O'Leary urges supporters to vote Keating in the 10th

Apparently some people believe I support an effort to write my name in on the November ballot. I appreciate the loyalty, but please don't. I lost the primary, am leaving public office, and now it is time to move forward. This is a critical election and voters need to make a well-informed and meaningful choice.

What voters need to know is the record and the positions of the candidates, and in both respects, Jeff Perry does poorly.

Although he is articulate and well-organized, he has a remarkably ineffective legislative record — not a single significant bill in eight years. His supporters argue that it is because he's in the minority party. This is nonsense. Tell that to Republican Sen. Michael Knapik, who worked with me on the bullying bill, or Republican Sen. Bruce Tarr, who was a key ally on the Ocean Management Act.

Perry claims to be an agent of change, but his political rhetoric and record reveal strident partisanship and ideological inflexibility, neither of which are in short supply in D.C. If you want meaningful change in Washington and real reform in America, vote for the president's agenda and vote for Bill Keating for Congress.
