How's the job hunting going Michiganders...
Have you been laid off, called back, working temp, leaving town, getting no call backs for interviews, have you been looking in other towns or cities for work and what have you seen or heard,or any of your family members. How do you see life in Michigan these days, or better yet America.

3. Wow....
4 years? How does he keep from going crazy?
I grew up in Michigan and most all my family is there. I think about moving back, my father is getting up there in age and all that, but there aren't any jobs! Of course, I guess I don't have to tell you that. It's depressing.........

5. Somehow he manages to keep busy
He spends a lot of time on the computer, mostly job hunting; does stuff around the house; meets some guys for coffee every morning, etc.

10. There must be...
...more to the story than just our sucky economy stopping him from getting a job after 4 years.

11. Well, I'm sure his age -- 60 now -- hasn't helped either
And he's somewhat limited physically as to what he can do, so the kinds of jobs he's looked for have been limited. He's an IT guy and has been trying to get back into IT. His last job was driving a limo for Metro Cars, but he can't do anything like that anymore, as he can't do any heavy lifting or sit all day in a car. He has back problems and had surgery in his neck four years ago.

7. You could always check with John McCain
GRAND RAPIDS -- Inside McFadden's Restaurant and Saloon, scores of young professionals who paid up to $100 for admittance sipped wine and waited their turn to shake hands with 70-year-old Sen. John McCain and have their pictures taken with him.

Outside, Bryan Stegall, 45, unemployed and a resident of the low-income apartment building next door, waited to ask the Republican presidential contender a question: Could he help him find a job?

<snip>

After the press conference, as McCain walked to a waiting SUV, Stegall moved in and asked if they could talk privately about a job. McCain said he had to get to another event, but would call Stegall if he would leave a number with an aide. Stegall did.

"Honestly, I'm gonna be optimistic," he said as the SUV pulled away. "I think he will call."

8. To be honest that doesn't surprise me as there are almost as many
out of work numb nuts who still insist that republicans will turn the job loss into a job boom as there are democratic supporters in Detroit.

9. I have been looking even though
I have a job as a custodian for Kalkaska schools....I need a job that has health insurance. They do not since it is an outsourced situation.
The only alternative is the medical field....Cena and aides and nothing as far as manufacturers positions.
