It's official: Skinner is out
To answer what seemed to be a rhetorical question from bfealk, yes, Skinner is dropping out.

Democrat Nancy Skinner is no longer running for Congress in Oakland County.

...

Skinner announced her decision to withdraw Monday.

She says Democrats need to rally behind Peters, who was beating her in fundraising. Skinner says a costly primary would have jeopardized Democrats' chances of beating Knollenberg in November.

1. She ran a good race in 06
She had every right to run this year, I'm sure she'll continue fighting against Rethugs into the future.

At least all of this in-fighting will stop now, and we can focus on knocking out that garbage congressman Knollenberg now.

2. Bfealk
this might be a good time to not comment.

Let the wounds heal.

Let everyone catch their breath.

Let everyone think about what has happened.

Let everyone learn some tact and grace (we could all use more of that)

This got very emotional.

Please?

3. She seems to have managed some grace
in her comments to the Detroit Free Press. So, let's all unite behind Gary Peters and retire Joe Knollenberg.

7. I love you too, Julie.
But I'll still be here. So you may have to hold your nose.

5. That sucks.
Peters can count on my vote,
but I would have been HAPPY
to punch my card for Nancy.

I REALLY RESENT the MDP picking
candidates during primaries.

I REALLY do.

9. My final word on this subject.

I think this post at MichLib says it best:

"I think we all should be proud of what Nancy accomplished in the 9th district. She put it on the map as a legitimate target, and probably gave Joe one or two heart attacks (at least) last year when we were nipping at his heels.

I know she has a lot of fire and passion for politics, and she will definitely continue to take the fight to the Republicans."

I too am damn proud of her. As for Mark Brewer and the MDP leadership, that is another post for another time.

As for me, I will be here from time to time. Let's talk about a happier subject: Tiger Baseball. Yeah buddy! :)

6. I'm very sad.
I wish Nancy all the best. I voted for her last time. I would have voted for her again. I wish her well.

8. Best of Luck Nancy
It was a long race and we need to focus on Joe Knollenberg, he is our real target. Its time for him to retire and she helped in that.
