1. That's a good looking proposal.
I'd just add that those responsible cannot be delegates at all in any way, shape, or form.

2. Nope. Too "generous." Half that, at most, imho.

The basic problem is that they ain't "delegates" - i.e. people acting in accordance with the will of the voters of the State of Mcihigan. At this point, there's NO WAY to do that. That's what a FUBAR is .... Humpty Dumpty. The 'joke' is that self-serving politicians have been feasting on omelet while posturing about reassembling Humpty Dumpty. Fuck 'em. Fuck 'em all.

The candidates NEVER faced the voters! The candidates NEVER spent a dime in Michigan! THEY HAVE NOT EARNED OUR SUPPORT. At the same time, WE paid $millions (that we cannot afford) on a "primary" that was ruled ILLICIT. Fuck 'em. This state has the highest unemployment and highest rate of home foreclosures.

I have a great deal of respect for Marcy. She's a dream. She's being far too generous.

3. I'm sure if Marcy thought anything stronger had any chance at all of happening,

she would have made this stronger. It's the first proposal I've seen anywhere that takes away some of the power of the superdelegates in the state. It's a good start, but I'm sure even this won't happen. I felt it was at least worth signing the petition.

There's going to have to be some kind of a compromise, whatever happens, and no one is going to get everything they want (as Howard Dean said on MTP yesterday). This proposal is at least starting to make some sense.

4. EXACTATICALLY!!!!!
Up until now, this whole fiasco reminded me of this immortal lyric: "Nobody’s is right, if everybody’s wrong." Yeah, I know the lyric referred to the Vietnam war, but it applies to most things that are fiascos from the start.

At least now we have positive noises by Dr. Dean and petitions such as this. There is no solution that will please everybody, but at least this is a start in the right direction.
