Detroit Newspapers website re: death notices
I was just online at the Detroit Free Press website to look up a death notice, and there is a link to suggested charitible organizations. I was very disturbed to see a link to "Right to Life in Michigan" with no opposing link (that I could find) for an organization that supports pro-choice.

Also, the Right to Life website includes political endorsements including DeVos for governor. I immediately fired off an email to the Detroit Newspaper death notices department to correct this bias. I asked for a response, and I will post here when and if I do get a reply.

I'm ticked.

2. Yes! It will be very interesting to hear how they explain this bias,
I asked that they either remove the link to Right to Life in Michigan or include a pro-choice link on their list.

Side note: I've been following your posts pretty regularly, SharonRB, and I commend you for all your efforts! It sounds like you were fortunate once again to see John Conyers (my hero) :-)

3. Success! I received a favorable reply from the Detroit Newspapers

stating that they would be willing to add a suggested charity to their list. I contacted Planned Parenthood of Southeast Michigan, and they are now on the the Death Notices list (online) of suggested charities. Happy ending.:)
