First Amendment Rights Demonstration July 10 Ferndale
Demonstration!
A call to join fellow citizens in standing up
for First Amendment rights.
Monday, July 10th
9 Mile and Woodward
4:45 -5:45

Big Turnout Needed!
This Monday's demonstration will be large and media will cover it.

Many of you are familiar with the pro-peace demonstration that have taken place at 9 Mile and Woodward in Ferndale every Monday afternoon 4:45-5:45 pm since the war in Afghanistan. This past Monday after the demonstration, Ferndale police arrested one of the longtime demonstrators and took him to the station where he was booked with disorderly conduct charges and bail was set at $500.

For the story in the July 7 Detroit Free Press, go to:
Peace activist arrested after Ferndale protest...

(He was arrested for carrying a sign under his arm while walking to an ice cream store - and threatened with a taser if he didn't hand over the sign to police. The sign said: "Ferndale Cops Say: Don't Honk if You Want Bush Out.")

PARKING: use residential streets as public lots may be filled

2. I just got back
Folks there said they had 12 people last week, and 80 this week. Someone said there was a raging granny with a honk sign, but no trouble this week. A real nice bunch of people, I got there late, but plan on getting there on time next week. C'mon folks if you're in the area join in, end this mess now!

4. They hold these at a very bad time of day for people who work
during the day. There's no way I could ever get there at that time.

5. they hold them at a bad time
for people whose cars have been smashed up in head-on collisions.

(no injuries at all, but I'm annoyed at being house bound and protestless for a few weeks)

I was there in spirit, though!

6. OMG, lw
I'm glad you're okay, but that's terrible.

I'm there in spirit every week. An hour later might be doable!

9. See, the cops were right...
if all those pinko-commies who want to end the war in Iraq wouldn't have been honking their horns, having been incited to do so by the protestors' signs, you probably wouldn't have been in the accident at all!

:sarcasm: duh
