Washtenaw resident killed in Iraq
Ann Arbor family mourns after explosion claims son
Sunday, August 8, 2004
BY JO COLLINS MATHIS
News Staff Reporter

As she hugs a photograph of her uniformed son, Darcy Lewis says she wants one thing known: Donnie McCune's death was not in vain.
"Regardless of what people feel about the war, people need to remember there are Americans over there and they're there for a reason," said Lewis, her voice soft. "They still need to be supported, regardless of people's feelings."

Donnie McCune, 20, died Thursday in Landstuhl, Germany, 24 hours after he was critically injured when an improvised explosive device detonated near his patrol in Balad, Iraq.

1. I'm sorry, but his death was in vain
It was a total unnecessary waste of human potential, like every other death in this useless war.

4. ...on a board like this; Give it a rest
A young man is dead. We all understand what that means, remember the most import thing is that a mother has lost a child, a sister has lost a brother, a father has lost a friend, etc.
