being transgendered may be the closest that humans can get to holiness
CALL ME MALCOLM -
There are some people who walk through life. Then there are some who examine each change and struggle, and try to see where it puts them in the larger picture. Malcolm is the latter. Raised in a conservative Christian household, Malcolm realized in his early twenties that it was God’s will for him to live as a male-bodied person; he turned to his faith to help him integrate his transition process into his relationship with his family. A deeply spiritual person, Malcolm also felt called to the ministry. When he asked his pastor for guidance, she explained to him that, based on scripture, being transgendered — holding both the male and female experience in one body — may be the closest that humans can get to holiness. This type of faith is what informs this remarkable film, CALL ME MALCOLM.

More than one man’s story, this documentary is a quintessential road trip of self-discovery. Beginning in a small town outside Denver, Malcolm’s journey takes him to Cortez, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York, as he meets other people who have walked very different paths, all influenced by their own or a loved one’s gender identity. Culminating with both his graduation from seminary school and his engagement, CALL ME MALCOLM is far more than one man’s story. It is all of our stories, offering us a vision of hope for what our community can be, and reminding us how much love and family we all truly have to offer each other.

The film opens June 24th for two weeks at Minnesota Film Arts’ Bell Auditorium (10 Church Street SE) in Minneapolis. It screens nightly at 7:15 & 9:15pm with 5:15pm matinees Saturday and Sunday. Malcolm will be present at the screening on Friday June 24th for a Q & A. Tickets to the screening are $8 general, $6.50 students/seniors and $5 MFA members. More information can be found at www.mnfilmarts.org/bell or by calling 612.331.7563

The Rev. Malcolm Himschoot may be the closest thing to a rock star in the world of Protestant ministry: young, brainy, charming, subject of a new documentary, recently married -- and transgendered.

Now Himschoot, 27, is coming this summer not only to a theater near you, but also to a congregation: Plymouth Congregational Church in Minneapolis, where in August he begins a two-year appointment as outreach minister.

1. This is insane
Binary Gender is insane yes,Being trasgender it is spiritual aspects because of the self examination required.
But it is not a christian phenomena.

The Fundies want to eliminate sexuality, not gender subjugation... they want gays to stop being gay, women to stop being women..all fucking for pleasure to stop..
and males to dominate..They want to co opt transgender movement for a very ulterior motive and I do not trust a baptist to be up front about it.

When monsters like Falwell embrace transgender issues it leads to gay and sexual castration.Do NOT let the fundamentalists Co Opt the Transdgender movement.

Should 'Gays' Be Castrated?
A well-known behavioral administrator said the jury is still out on castration as a cure for pedophilia. "Using chemical castration can diminish sexual urges," Dr. Christine Cauffield, therapist and chief executive officer of Coastal Behavioral Healthcare Inc., Sarasota, said. Surgical castration has been used in countries such as Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Germany, although Denmark has switched to chemical castration. In the United States, chemical castration is achieved by the experimental use of medroxyprogesterone acetate, or MPA, a drug sold under the name Depo-Provera. MPA is an artificial female hormone that has been used as a form of birth control. Studies show that testosterone levels of men who take this drug fall to pre-puberty levels.

3. Whoa , there! Don't jump to conclusions!
This particular transgendered person is not a fundamentalist!

He's at Plymouth Congregational Church, the downtown branch of the very, very liberal United Church of Christ. I know some members of that church, and they are a very gay-friendly congregation.

2. Available to all.
A righteous cause; I'am all for holiness. I find that we can affect mail/ female integration internally via a couple of simple actions. It's available for anyone who puts in a little time on a regular basis. With a couple of simple tones, we can balance and integrate our male and female energies. We sound the tones until we are resonating with them. This ajdusts their size and balances their frequencies, bringing them/us more into harmony. The tones are ah and ha. Say them silently or aloud, in common with and irrespective of your breath, around you in space until you and they are resonating together. You may add a pitch or sound to them or not. Jai.
