Talking Wellstone:
Bill Lofy
(Spruce Room, 10am)

Join us for the book launch of Paul Wellstone: The Life of a Passionate Progressive, Bill Lofy's fast-paced biography about one of the most compelling figures in the history of modern American politics. Lofy is the Communications Director of Wellstone Action, an organization created to promote the late senator's work and values, and his book is not only a life story but a political handbook as well. This special Book Festival event both celebrates Wellstone's legacy and takes a good look at where it's headed.

NUMBER 2:

Tuesday, October 18, 7:00pm - Suburban World Theater
(3000 block of Hennepin in Uptown)
http://www.magersandquinn.com/index.php?main_page=event

Magers and Quinn Booksellers sponsors an event for Jeff Blodgett and Politics the Wellstone Way at the Suburban World Theater.

Jeff Blodgett spent 13 years as senior aide, advisor, and campaign manager to Senator Paul Wellstone. He ran all three of his campaigns and served as director of Senator Wellstone’s Minnesota office for five years. Now Jeff is Executive Director of Wellstone Action, the organization formed to carry on the work of Paul and Sheila Wellstone.

Politics the Wellstone Way is a workshop in book form, providing the detailed framework to jump-start a new generation of activists plus plenty of helpful tools for old pros. Molly Ivins says, “I think everyone who knew Paul Wellstone had the same reaction to his death, because we know what he would have told us: Don’t mourn, organize. This book tells you how to, and the right way-in that joyous, battling spirit that so distinguished Wellstone’s politics.”

The event is free and open to the public. Jeff Blodgett will discuss the book and the ongoing work of Wellstone Action. After the booksigning, the in-house theater group Machine Dreams will perform and beverages will be available for purchase.
