1. This Thursday evening, or next week week almost anytime
This Friday, we're having a bonfire as part of the massive "Minnesota for Kucinich going out of business bonanza." And then Sunday we're capping it off with an afternoon on White Bear Lake.

Next week, pretty much any evening other than Wednesday looks good right now, and the weekend is free, so a Saturday coffee shop get-together, bowling, or model aircraft flying are all fine options.

So I'll just toss three options out there: Thursday the 5th, Friday the 13th (hey! propitious!), or Saturday the 14th.

I'll look forward to telling you about "The Hunt for Al Jazeera."

;-)

4. I have a friend coming from NYC at that time
so I'll have to catch you folks some other time. I really wanted to hear so good stories, but alas, perhaps another time. :hi:

5. Pick a day, I'll be there
I'd like to see the bonfire, too. That's an unusual way to close down a campaign office, but, okay.

7. Let's set it for the 14th.
Now - let's talk about time and place. I'm open all day. Turtles over on Chicago worked pretty well the time we tried that - we know we can get a larger table there. Any other ideas? Some place we haven't invaded before maybe?

8. 14th sounds good - any suggestions for place?
I suggested Turtle Bread last time, who's got a favorite hang-out they want teeming with DUers?

Let's party!

12. No, the union.
Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union. I'm wondering why you don't pick a union place to meet.

14. I thought Krupskaya had a point about union restaurants
so I found a link to a list of union shops in the Mpls/St Paul area

http://www.here17.org/house.php

I was pleased to see that Fong's in Bloomington is a union shop - I didn't know that and it has always been the preferred watering hole for the Bloomington DFL.

I will confess, that I am still partial to Turtle Breads location. But we could discuss one of the places listed at the union's website.

15. All of those are just names to me
except for Jax, which my college senior women's honor society went to, but that was a few decades ago.

Some person more knowledgeable about the restaurant scene should pick the venue.

Anyone?

16. I didn't recognize many of those names, either
I've heard of Cherokee, Nye's, Mancini's, and maybe a couple of others.

Someone who is familiar with the locations ought probably to suggest one of the union locations, otherwise Turtle Bread will probably work.

17. Nye's is always a blast
Think 1950s-60s supper klub, complete with a piano bar. However it does tend to get crowded on friday and saturday nights. :D

19. Thanks...
...for considering union spots. Coming from a union home, I hate it when people forget the L in DFL.

27. I'm on standby
I may have to pick up my stepfather's brother and sister-in-law from the airport and take them to Wayzata, but even if I do, I'll try to make it to the gathering before or after.

(They still haven't decided when they're flying in, and Mama Leftcoast and Stepdad Leftcoast no longer want to deal with airport traffic.)
