1. I don't think I've seen...
...anything as transparent, politically childish, fawning, or ignorant in quite some time.

"There is no Democratic or Republican way to clean the streets."

Oh yes there is, asshole! One way would be to make them union city jobs. Another way would be to privatize them. Hm, now which party would support which option? YOU ASSHAT!

"I'm endorsing the president because I am sure that continuity of government will product better results than anger-motivated transition of power."

So it's better to have an installed idiot drive the train over a cliff than have people who are angry that an idiot was installed to drive the train wrest the controls away from him? JAYZUS H!

"The American economy has added 1.5 million new jobs since last August, while Minnesota's own economy has added close to 30,000 -- approaching growht levels comparable to the mid-'90s."

YOU DUMBASS! Growth isn't growth if you're starting from a position of major losses! You claim you're a "CEO of a major city" -- THE NUMBER PEOPLE LOOK AT IS NET, NOT GROSS! FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!

And "major city," <snerk>.

OK, let's continue...

"If we changed our president now -- the symbol of our leadership and national resolve -- it would confuse our friends and encourage our enemies. That's the unavoidable reality."

I have this image of you, Asshat Kelly, driving somewhere in a caravan of cars, your wife at your side. Maybe you and your friends' families, in cars behind you, are all heading to the cabin. You're driving along, and your wife says, "Dude, Randy, you're heading the wrong way." You pretend not to hear here and keep driving. She says, "Randy, I really think you missed the turn and this will get us nowhere." You ignore her, maybe even turn up the radio. Long-suffering, but still trying, she says, "RANDY, TURN AROUND NOW!" And then you look at her and say, "Wife, if I turn around now, that will confuse the people following me!" And then you look back and see your friends are waving and pointing in the right direction. Some are shrugging at you as if to say, "What's going on?" while one or two of them are flipping you off.

Continuing...

"I believe we must focus greater efforts on the deficit. And I think he needs to resist those who want to use the issue of gay marriage as an electoral divide-and-conquer strategy."

Don't hold your breath, Randy.

"Since 9/11, he has shown us his capacity to bring us together and he needs to call upon the greater instincs of American tolerance to unite us again."

ARE YOU FUCKING BLIND, YOU TRAITOR?

"I look forward to a strong, constructive working relationship with this president." I just bet you do, you fucking lapdog.

Whew, I feel much better now.

2. facts? logic? who needs 'em!
Well, facts and logic aren't really something we can expect from Kelly. He lies about the recession - it did NOT start before Bush took office! It started two months AFTER he took office! He brags about jobs, but Minnesota has 15000 less than at Bush's inauguration. He touts rising home ownership, but growth in that area slowed once Bush took office. He says Bush is winning the war on terror, but the Taliban is resurgant in AFghanistan, American troops are still dying, and it's well known that Bush is underfunding first responders and opposed an office of homeland security.

But even worse than his wild disregard for the truth is Kelly's claim that electing someone other than Bush would undermine the war on terror and confuse people.

WHAT?!?! This country was built on change. The whole reason we have elections is so that if people are not satisfied with the party in power, things can change. People know that we dont always keep our President for two terms; was there mass confusion when we kicked out Carter and Bush the First? NO! No matter how difficult it is for Kelly to grasp, America IS a democracy, and we have the right and RESPONSIBILITY to elect the person who will best be able to lead us. That man is Kerry, and if the rest of the world is shocked and confused by our free elections, that's not really something I'm worried about.

3. divider? uniter?
ha!

Kelly denounces Republicans' "divide-and-conquer strategy." Next sentence, he says Bush has a capacity to "bring us together."

Really? Then why did you feel a need to denounce the GOP's divisive politics before you said that?
