I'm sure somebody will be out there in person - they usually are, but it would be nice to see Kerry especially!!! P.S. Eating some cheese curds, roasted corn, or some mini donuts - being a real person with the rest of us!!!

6. Can't think about the State Fair without thinking about Wellstone

I remember Wellstone's little green booth at the State Fair. It was a great place to meet/talk with him. The last time I saw him at the Fair I remember listening to him talk to an 80+ year old farmer about farm policy. Great stuff.

I really missed the green booth last year. Something was definitely missing at the Fair. :-(

7. Remember the first year he ran for senate?

He had this plastic tree stump that he'd bring out of the DFL booth or his own booth (conveniently located by a cheese curd stand) depending on where he was speaking, climb on top of it and give a "stump speech". One of the things I really liked about him was that when he was speaking to you he spoke to you, not at you. And he listened, he wasn't looking over your shoulder to see if there was someone else he should be speaking to.

As for the previous poster, who was wondering when Dayton will be there, call the DFL office they may have the schedule. (Though I hear Dayton just had knee surgery, I'm guessing he'll be able to make the fair). The DFL booth always has the daily schedule of who's going to be there when at the booth.

I think admission is $9, but if you can get to a Super America before the Fair starts tomorrow, you can get tickets for $7. It's well worth it--lots to see, lots of food (on a stick!) lots of rides, etc. It's the best state fair I've ever seen and has a reputation of being one of the best in the country.

The Hilton a few blocks away from here was surrounded this morning by:

1) A few dozen state troopers
2) Several coach buses
3) An ambulance
4) A dozen minivans

I think Kerry must travel with a BIG entourage.

12. Glad Kerry Made It To The State Fair!!!

Even though I wasn't there today, I'm glad John made it to the State Fair!!! It was great to see him having a corn dog out there! He went to the right place!!! Glad he visited Anoka, too.:)
