As, of course it should be. Actually, it was during the Willie Nelson set. Overlooking Mayo field, where the show was, is an old apt complex that is vacant. The Realtor, so I heard, was going to have a party there tonight so folks could view the show from above. At some point during the Willie set may of us looked up in time to see a large Bush 04 banner being unfurled. Many singular boos, and many many middle fingers extended.

I don't think the Bush idiots got near the reaction they hoped for. If they expected cheers they were way off. If they hoped for a loud angry reaction they were off - most didn't notice, most ignored - but they brief coloring of middle fingers was cool. :7

I also received several nods of appreciation and positive comments for my Kerry button and saw a lot of other Kerry wear - Rochester is traditionally pretty conservative. I know, I know, you would expect most at a concert like this to be liberal, but, folks are idiots.

1. Hmm...weird that this got moved... that sucks...
anyways, as I was going to say...that is great. I would have loved to attend the show just to see Dylan. He puts on a pretty good show!

3. Willie was a HUGE Kucinich supporter this year
he even did a campaign song for him. So I would find it very hard to believe that Willie would support some dumbass Bush banner-- ESPECIALLY hung up by some apartment building owner looking to freeload off the concert.

I lived in Roch for a few years in the early 90s. The town is very fiscally conservative, but tends to be moderate on a number of social issues-- for example, Shiela Kiscaden, the staunchly pro-choice Republican state senator (well, ex-Republican now). I could see many folk in Roch being pissed off at Bush, especially over the deficit. Also, the city is really growing fast, and there's a lot of "new blood" coming into town. That and the large immigrant population from SE Asia may be having a greater effect than previously on party support.
