Politics of hate at the fair
Reportedly at the fair today:
* A van with a picture of an aborted fetus, sign saying "John Kerry is Pro-Abortion" driving around outside
* Truck with picture of two men kissing, sign saying "Want gay marriage? Vote Democrat" driving around the grounds

Feel the love.

What fair? I just went to the MN State Fair on Sat. with my daughter and her friend - we got to see Al Franken at the DFL booth, yay!
Autographs all around.
On Edit: Oh DUH, just saw that I was in the Minnesota room; OUR fair, OK I get it, sorry...
Hope you had fun otherwise...
Didja see the condoms on a stick, and the panties with "The Only Bush I Trust is Mine" and the Onesies with "I'm Already Smarter than the President" on them??

3. Worked the DFL booth today. It packed all day. Selling out of
shirts and buttons. One of the fastest to sell out was Vets for Kerry. Made me feel good to see the enthusiasm. Bush is history. Bad history.

4. EEEEEEEEEK!!! Men kissing!

Actually, I think that gay marriage truck is hilarious. I'm going to the fair tomorrow and I hope I see it. I want to say something like, "Geez, I thought the idea of ho-mo-sek-shu-als was really scary and gross, but I see in this picture that they love each other just like anybody else does! You really opened my eyes! Thank you SO much and yes, you've changed my mind enough to get me to vote Democrat! What caring, thoughtful and loving people you must be!!!!!!!"

Of course, my Kerry shirt my give it away.

ETA: On the other hand, people who wave around pictures of aborted fetuses where my children might see them need to go straight to hell. I despise those people -- they are sick and they hate children.

5. Hey, those sound like the people who used to drive slowly around
areas where peace and environmental demonstrations were being held in Portland!

I hope they didn't follow me here. :scared:

7. They're all over the place
They invaded Minnesota a month or so ago, with big semi trucks and, I believe, a plane pulling a banner. Hey, they obviously can't win people over with a rational argument so ICKY PICTURES AAAH! :eyes:

8. methinks the goons doth protest too much
Seriously, is there anyone more obsessed with gay sex than homophobe activists?
If they're sooooo shocked and outraged by the image of two guys playing a little tonsil hockey, why did they go to all the effort and expense of making a huge billboard of it?

Paging Doctor Freud....

9. Actually
the vans were driving on Snelling Avenue.

The fairgrounds restricts vehicles from driving on the grounds between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. without proper credentials (and there aren't very many vehicles that have those credentials).

10. I like those trucks!
I just think about how they are desensitizing our population. By the time they finish people are going to be so used to gay men kissing, etc. that it won't be an issue anymore :)

That's my wish anyways.
