How to survive bush's acceptance speech- MN
“1,000 POINTS OF HOPE” PARTY WITH THE DFL

Come join DFLers for our “1,000 POINTS OF HOPE” convention watch-party on Thursday, September 2nd, 2004, at the Union Grill and Bar in Minneapolis. 1,000 luminaries will be on display that evening as we gather to listen to George Bush and peacefully demonstrate our shared belief that America Can Do Better with John Kerry and John Edwards in the White House.

Your admission to the event of $25 will provide you with appetizers, a cash bar, and a complimentary Kerry-Edwards Luminary for you to enjoy at the party and take home to show your support of the campaign in your neighborhood. If you can’t join us at the party, stop by the DFL Headquarters at 255 East Plato Blvd, St. Paul, on Thursday between 9-4 pm to pick up a luminary to display at your home that night. These Luminaries, when lit on your doorstep or in your front window between now and November 2nd, will show your neighbors that you are a part of the “1000 Points of Hope” that are looking forward to a bright future.

WHEN: Thursday, September 2nd, the last day of the Republican National Convention, 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

WHERE: Union Grill and Bar, 312 Central Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN 55414

3. ...and I actually went!
Instead of listening to the Bushboy's speech, I went outside with the people who were doing visibility work with luminarias at the corner of 3rd and Central SE.

We lined about half a block and chanted slogans and waved at passing cars. I'm happy to report that the response was overwhelmingly positive over the half hour I was there: only two or three negative responses and lots of honks, waves, and thumbs up.
