Minnesota Speaks Decisively in Electing DFLers, Puts Radical GOP on Notice

St. Paul - After two years of Republican control of two-thirds of State Government, and four years of wrong choices by George W. Bush, Minnesotans spoke decisively when casting their votes in record numbers during yesterday's election.

"Record turnout of 78%, a full 10% above Secretary of State Mary Kiffmeyer's predicted turnout, combined with tremendous DFL gains in the State House sends an undeniable message to Governor Tim Pawlenty and Republican leadership. Minnesotans have lost patience with the Republican leadership's radical agenda, their inability to negotiate, and their colossal failure to get the job done for the people of Minnesota," said Erlandson.

The Minnesota DFL gained 13 seats in the Minnesota State House, closing the gap to just a one-seat majority for the GOP, including significant DFL gains in traditionally Republican areas in Greater Minnesota and the suburban ring.

"The message to the radical GOP was not just from one area of the state. Minnesotans from rural, suburban and urban parts of the state came together in one voice to reject the radical agenda of Pawlenty and the GOP, in favor of an agenda that emphasizes getting the job done for the people of Minnesota on health care, jobs, and transportation."

6. I've been repeating to myself all day that it used to be said that
Minnesota is 2 years behind both coasts when it comes to fashion and 2 years AHEAD when it comes to politics.

I hope Pawlently gets the message.
