1. This has been the conventional wisdom for some time now.
I'm glad she has cleared that up, so folks can focus on candidates who clearly are running -- Ciresi, Klobuchar and Wetterling.

Ciresi is millionaire trial lawyer with Mpls firm of Robins Kaplan Miller & Ciresi. He represented the state of Minnesota in the successful tobacco litigation. He has never held elected office. He ran for US Senate in 2000, loosing in DFL endorsement race to Janezich. He did not honor the endorsement process, and ran in the primary with Janezich, Yanisch and Dayton. Dayton won. His perceived strengths are very deep pockets and great debating skills. Negative is white male millionaire trial lawyer out to get smokers.
Here is MPR profile from 2000 . . .

Klobuchar is currently Hennepin County Attorney. She is daughter of Ely native Jim Klobuchar, a daily columnist with the Minneapolis Star Tribune for many years. Prior to her election as County Attorney in 1998, Klobuchar was a partner with the Minneapolis law firm of Gray Plant Mooty. Earlier, she was a partner with the Minneapolis law firm of Dorsey & Whitney. Klobuchar was undergraduate at Yale University and went to the University of Chicago Law School. Prior to Dayton announcing he would not seek reelection, it was widely thought that Klobuchar would be running for MN Attorney General in 2006. Here is her profile from her office . . .

5. I think so
Now it is Kolbuchar and Wetterling that have the best chances in either race (6th and Senate). Cerisi's background is ripe for GOP mudslinging attacks and misrepresentation.
