She hasn't said she would run but she did take a trip to meet the #1 Dem in the US Senate. What do you suppose they talked about?

2. Schumer is begging her to run, she needs to make a decision
President dumb fuck and Senator Pencilneck are holding a fundraiser in st.louis this weekend. Claire will be in Kansas City this weekend with Howard Dean and state party chair Roger Wilson. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE needs to lean on her hard to make a decision ASAP. While he is weighing her options the GOP will be raising a ton of money.

Here is a newsflash for Claire McCaskill: You will never win another nomination to be our Gubenatorial candidate!!! Jay Nixon and Joe Maxwell both plan to run in that primary. Claire has already had her opportunity to run for governor.

3. I hope she does declare soon
It needs to be similar to what is going on in Montana, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island with Democrats already campaigning for the Republican-held Senate seat. With Talent's approval in the 30's he is clearly vulnerable and it would be nice for the campaign to start as early as possible.

Out of curiousity, who might be some other primary candidates for the Dems here?

5. primary candidates?
Here is the situation on this senate race. If Claire doesn't get into this race, we will once again be where we were in 1994 and 2004. In 1994, our candidate for an open US Senate seat was Alan Wheat, a liberal state senator from kansas city. John Ashcroft kicked his ass thoroughly, if that isn't disigusting enough for you...just look at the pathetic campaign of Nancy Farmer last fall. She didn't have they money to run tv ads until the last two weeks of the campaign. Not to mention her inability to become competitive against an incumbent who had never received more than 51 percent of the vote. That was of course until he ran against Nancy Farmer.

DAMN IT, what is the Missouri Democratic Party's FUCKING PROBLEM!!!!
The only Senate race we've won since 1980 was a deceased governor, after the public already knew a vote for Carnahan would elect his wife for TWO years. Two years later we lost the seat.

State Senator Chuck Graham of Columbia has publicly stated that he is interested in running if Claire does not run. To be honest, he wouldn't stand a chance in hell of winning that race. Talent will easily categorize Graham as an ultra liberal, pro abortion, anti gun, political nobody who doesn't have the experience to be a United States Senator. Everyone knows what the republican playbook is against democrats and there would be no reason to believe things would be any different with a Graham/Talent race.

6. Question about Nancy Farmer
Why didn't Nancy Farmer wait until 2006 to challenge Jim Talent, since he'd be easier to beat than Kit Bond?

8. Who else can do it? I don't see but a few more options.
Those being Maxwell and maybe Nixon.

9. Her Last Campaign was a Bit Pathetic
I know folks who detested her TV ad about Blunt's youth and who voted for Blunt. Best not to tick off young liberal-leaning voters.

That said, I think she could pull it off with better campaign advertising and more on-the-street involvement to get every Democrat to the polls. I did not see much on-the-street GOTV in my neighborhood which is strongly democratic. That has to change or we'll never get Democrats elected in Missouri.
