Journalists feel Blunt-Nixon friction
By TIM HOOVER
The Kansas City Star

JEFFERSON CITY — There was no hiding the friction Thursday between Gov. Matt Blunt and Attorney General Jay Nixon.

Blunt and Nixon spoke to editors and reporters gathered in Jefferson City for the Missouri Press Association’s annual Day at the Capitol. Nixon, a Democrat serving his fourth term as attorney general, is raising money for a potential 2008 run against Blunt, a Republican.

Nixon, though, told reporters and editors he was not prepared to make a formal announcement of his candidacy.

“While I don’t shy from the fact we’re out there raising money, in the short run my primary focus is here (the attorney general’s office),” he said.

Nixon and Blunt, however, have been sparring over state issues for months.

1. With Blunt there's plenty to spar about.
Further down in the article you referenced sums up one of Blunt's problems. And please take note that this is at least the second time he's done something like this that I know about.

"Blunt on Thursday said that even if the student loan agency’s board violated the open meetings law, that should not be allowed to kill his proposal.

“We shouldn’t allow technical problems to get in the way of this,” the governor said. “The idea that you somehow abrogate their decision is absurd. Lawyers can always find reasons not to do things, but there are overriding reasons why we should do this.”

In other words, refusing to obey the law or ignoring laws that inconvenience you or prevent you from doing what you want and shouldn't be allowed to stop you. Great lesson for the Governor of the state to be demonstrating for our kids, hmmm?

2. He is a lying dishonorable man
When I was there two weeks ago for Child Advocacy Day, he told our group of a couple hundred child advocates that the state of MO was committed to helping foster children and with our help, the state would not let them down. When I got home that day, I learned he had recommended cuts in foster care spending that very morning, only a few hours before he spoke to our group.

3. Whatever church he "professes" to belong to should
excommunicate him immediately. He's not a christian. And at this point, you'd have to work to convince me that he's human.
