Tell momma what BLM and Forest guys are doing in your area
Got some disturbing news about glocks on hips and hands on glocks from somebody who was at a meeting with a bunch of BLM and US Forest Service personnel. No real info at this point. Not much to even speculate about. But most of these guys are not trained law enforcement. Do they even get a psych screening before they are hired?

Nine millimeters? What's up wit dat?

What's the word in your part of the state?

1. Some 3 or 4 members of the Friends of the Bitterroot
committed the heinous crime of attending the unveiling of the Bitterroot National Forests preferred alternative on a salvage log sale and were treated like criminals. One of the FOB guys (), dad was Forest Supervisor many years ago and his picture hangs on the wall in the meeting room where the presentation was to take place.

They were ordered out and escorted away by an armed guard.

The press was in attendance, some pro logging folks were in attendance, but the FOB were personas non gratis. Not for there behavior but because the Forest Service wanted to give the impression that nobody was in opposition to the plan.

The Missoulian had some good coverage of the incident.Maybe you can find something in the achieves there or the Native Forest Network might have some info on it.

Where are you located havocmom? West, Central, or Eastern MT?

3. Eastern part
Were, suddenly there are all sorts of problems. Guess the developers screwing the western part of the state must have us in their sites now. Locals are sure running into a mess of obstacles.

2. Unfortunately
civil servants ultimately are forced to do the bidding of their political bosses.

I am headed for the Scapegoat Wilderness in the Bob Marshall this summer to do so volunteer trail work.

Keep up the good fight.

4. Read that 30,000 Forrest Sevice Jobs privatized
That goes WAY beyond doing the bidding of political bosses.

And there used to be laws about fed employees carrying guns. Only certain cop type jobs were allowed. NEVER saw a Forrest Service guy with one on duty till just recently.
