3. Already knew my town wasn't Blue...
...we don't even get Dems running for the local offices. They have NO shot.

4. Mine too . . .
Repugs run virtually unopposed . . . even by their own party!

VERY interesting. Once again, I am completely disgusted with Ocean County (not even on the list. What does that tell you?)

6. What was the criteria?
Vineland voted for Kerry, but is overwhelmingly Republican in State, County, and local elections.

11. It does....
...but it's still dominated by the old Italian blood in the 6th Ward. We haven't elected a Democratic mayor since the 1950's, and overwhelmingly go Republican in Assembly and Freeholder races.

Frank "Genghis" LoBiondo is from Vineland, too.

10. So Pleased . . . .
that Westfield is on the list. When I first moved to Westfield 15 years ago from NYC, it was definitely a Repuke town (a lot of old money), but during these 15 years, Westfield elected a Dem mayor TWICE! Totally unprecedented!

13. Union County is trending very Dem
Even Berkeley Heights, New Providence, Mountainside, and Summit, which are very Repub areas are no longer taken for granted by that party

14. What is your point?
Living in September 10th doesn't make this feel better; this is a September 12th world. If the forces of change can't beat the forces of security, then the land of 9/11 will always have a Repub mayor and governor.

17. That's interesting
My bro-in-law bought a house down there, in the shadow of the nuclear power plant (well, not exactly)--- somehow it doesn't surprise me that the area's red.

23. Jackson
Jackson Township is one of the fastest growing towns in New Jersey. Has many rural areas that are now becomming housing developments, and people are moving from the expensive Middlesex County and North.

20. Hope is alive in Howell
Although we took a political beating in Howell, we're still trying fighting the good fight. If any other Howell folks visit this board, we have a website. http://www.howelldemocrats.com/ This is my first of many posts so I'll be around.

24. I walk the line...
I live two blocks from the Essex/Union county line. Since I'm closer to downtown Hillside than downtown Irvington, that's where I do all my shopping, etc. While I easily found Irvington on the Essex country list, I wondered why Hillside wasn't there, LOL!

I think a list of Red towns would be just as useful.

However, Woodbury is REPRESENTED!
