Many GOP not happy with Paladino...at all.
So I'm having coffee this morning with my friend who is and has been involved in GOP politices county wide for some time. He was a Lazio guy and is completely disheartened by his defeat to the idiot...yup idiot Paladino. He explained Lazio got screwed by the Long Island faction run by Cox, who has his boy running for Congress. http://www.nydailynews.com/blogs/dailypolitics/2010/01/a-cox-for-congress.html

He asked me if I thought Cuomo could fix things, I explained he is anal when it comes to details so working with nuts & bolts I think he can. We both had an elected GOP boss that was the same way, he could make the trains run on time. We also agree Silver & some other usless representatives in the Senate & Assembly need to go. I think a lot more are going to pull the lever for Cuomo. They realize its a big job to straighten out the mess and Paladino isn't the right choice.

1. Paladino's an embarassment
even to the Rethugs. OK, maybe not to the religious right, but the country clubber Republicons can't wait for this election to be over, and Paladino's mouth to go back to shut.

2. i am not sure of cuomo. i don't like the idea of the party picking who we get to vote for.
but paladino is a nutjob. i like how he went in and said how he was going to cut taxes and cuomos plan was bad bad bad. but he never says HOW he will cut taxes. never. they tried asking him as he left the studio but he refused to answer any of their questions. that is because he just says the standard line, but has no way to do it. and he knows it. i just don't understand how people keep falling for the same line of bs. it's like lucy promising she won't take the ball again. just kick it charlie brown. and she yanks that ball again and he falls again.

3. The myth is that the NY Governor can fix anything at all...
all power is in the Assembly and Senate leadership and no Governor has been able to break that stranglehold.

7. actually
the budgetary power lies with the governor. Only he can proposes a budget. The assembly/senate can add to it if they wish, but the governor can then use his line item veto to x out those additions
