HALT DIEBOLD: Contact the Governor
From another group I'm on:

"For those who have not been following the voting issue, the link below to ncvoter has a lot of important information. After Diebold withdrew last week...,

"We all hoped that the news regarding Diebold's withdrawal from the state would give us a happy and peaceful holiday season; however, it seems that the County Commissioners and the Diebold lobbyists have other plans. They mean to persuade Governor Easley to hold a special session of the General Assembly and get them to change S223 so that Diebold can sell their machines here. Many of the County Commissioners think that if the law is changed they can keep their old machines.

They do not understand that the new HAVA requirements made most of their voting machines obsolete anyway. I am including a link here so that you can read and
understand it in case you need to explain it to anyone:

I just got off the phone, please call and write. They are keeping track of the calls etc.

http://www.ncvoter.net/alerts.html

You can fax Governor Easley a letter at (919) 715-3175 or (919) 733-2120. You can call his office at (800) 662-7952 (valid in North Carolina only), (919) 733-4240, or (919) 733-5811.

Here is the page for emailing the Governor's office:

Defend North Carolina E-Voting Law From Diebold
North Carolina has one of the most stringent electronic voting laws
in the country. Now voting machine lobbyists are trying to gut it. If
you're a North Carolina resident, tell the governor to defend the vote
from special interests!
