Wednesday, August 4, 2004 Dear Friends,
You're among the first to know about my Walk Ohio tour.
Today I am announcing at press conferences in Columbus in Cincinnati that one week from today, I embark on a 27-day, 310-mile journey across Ohio---on foot. (See press release "Fingerhut to Walk in Ohioans' Shoes.")
Being supporters of mine, it probably doesn't surprise you to learn I’m walking for change, to get Ohio moving again, to make our state great again. Like me, you know that for too long, Ohioans have had to settle for "good enough" policies and leaders of the past that actually weren't "good enough" at all, and that have left our great state in crisis. The people of Ohio --- the voters of Ohio --- need to know Ohio’s future is in their hands this November.
Just as Common Sense pamphleteer and patriot Thomas Paine once wrote that, "We have it in our power to start the world again," you and I have it in our power to get Ohio moving again. This election is about the past vs. the future, and my vote is with the future.
You will help spread the message by making an online contribution or mailing one into the P.O. Box listed at www.fingerhutforsenate.com/contribute.
I haven't got the map yet when I do I'll keep everybody posted. this is a really good idea, don't ya think?
