Jennifer Brunner running for Senate
I just got the email that Jennifer Brunner will be running for Senate in 2010. I think she will be an awesome Senator, but now I'm worried about who will run to take her place in 2010 as SOS. We HAVE to hold that in 2010 to make sure the Rethuglicans don't get to mess around with redistricting and screw over Ohio AGAIN.

Here's her new campaign website:

1. Good news, bad news. She will be hard to be replaced as SOS (the most important job in the state)

2. I know
I'm having the same mixed reaction. She was SO important as SOS and did so much to begin turning around the gigantic mess Blackwell left behind. But I think it would be AWESOME to have her and Sherrod Brown as our Senators. The mind boggles.

4. Brunner's term ends in January 2011, so the Dems will nominate another candidate for SOS...
...if Brunner runs for US Senate.

5. I thought the state legislature was in charge of redistricting
What role does the SoS actually have in it?

6. The Apportionment Board actually controls redistricting
It is the Gov, SOS, State Auditor and a Republican and Democrat appointed by the State Legislature.
