College Republicans at UT to list "liberal" professors
Here's a story from WTOL in Toledo:

http://www.wtol.com/Global/story.asp?S=10990969

College Republicans at The University of Toledo are planning to create a directory of "liberal college professors" who are using their position to "influence" the thinking of students. And they brought in Joe the Plumber to get things going.

What concerns me is that students will be "reporting" on their professors and what is said in class. I guess if you a Republican and you attend college you have no interest in being exposed to variety of ideas.

As someone who works on a university campus, I know that the "liberal" faculty label is another myth. It's just as easy for me to list the conservatives as it is to list the liberals. Part of an education is listening to a wide variety of ideas.

4. Could they be doing this as blackmail for better grades?
I'm not saying they are. But it does make you think.

5. that is just awful
that they are using politics in this way. How much more of a wedge can you drive? Sure - some profs are liberal... sure.. some are conservative... but isn't that life?

7. Excuse me, but why is it important to mention in a news report what Joe-the-Plummer thinks?
Let's rate this article from 1 to 5 (1 = bad, 5 = good). This article is very short on facts, -5 (does not rate or dnr.)

BTW: David Horowitz tried this crap a number of years ago, so what, a repeat of a non-starter.

8. Not surprised
You hear about this conspiracy of liberal professors to take over the college system yada yada all the time from talking heads. Yet every time i ask the people that tout this nonsense for some empirical evidence or at least a study they just tell you "oh everyone knows". Just partisan babbling is all it is.
