Ohioans, just how vulnerable is Mike DeWine?
In my analysis of 2006, I want to know whether or not DeWine is truly vulnerable. So, is he a possible take down target?

1. If Hackett plays hardball...

DeWine is such a little weasel, Hackett should be able to crush him like a bug. Just tie DeWine to the rampant corruption in Ohio politics, AND *'s failed domestic policies, including the huge exodus of jobs out of the state, the failing school systems, loss of military bases, etc. Oh, and let's not forget high gas prices, high natural gas prices, high heating oil prices, and general inflation.

But Hackett needs to just strike early, strike hard, and KEEP striking and kicking and keeping DeWine down and on the defensive... figuratively speaking, of course.

4. From what I last heard...DeWine has a 40% approval rating
Taft is now down to 15%. However, people bitched and moaned about Taft in his first term and they still voted him for a second term in 2002. Until southern Ohio sees the light, a Democrat winning statewide will be a tough challenge. However, I think if Hackett is very blunt and aggressive, he can educate a significant chunk of southern Ohio voters enough to turn the tide to his favor.

5. Sounds like Hacket might tap into the "tough guy" Republican vote.
You know what I mean when I say "tough guy" Republican. They tend to be socially conservative, but economically somewhat populist since they tend to be lower income. A tough, aggressive, Harry Truman-like Democrat can tap into that vote.
