Cleveland: A ticket stub from the "Fahrenheit 9/11" gets 50% off dinner
Hot stuff . . . Bob McDonell, owner of the Fulton Bar & Grill, 1835 Fulton Road, Cleveland, took out an ad in this paper Sunday announcing he will give diners with a ticket stub from the movie "Fahrenheit 9/11" 50 percent off a dinner or appetizer.

"I knew there would be some angry backlash, but that's OK. I wanted to make a statement," said McDonald.

The screenwriter and restaurateur got the angry backlash he expected but said he received far more calls of support than critical reviews. This corner bets the ad will not only steer more people to see the film but also will get the Fulton far more new customers than lost business. Why not? It has a great patio, the food there is good, the wines are reasonably priced, and it attracts a friendly clientele. Discount is good through July 15.

The Fulton is wonderful - now I'm really bummed that I threw out my stubs!

3. Hey, if you can afford it...
Go there and have dinner anyway. Tell them why: You threw out your stubs, but are gonna support them anyway. One good turn and all that.

I think that you would instantly gain "regular" status. ;-)

4. Maybe they'll quiz you about key scenes.
And still give you the discount. LOL!

It's incredibly cool for them to make this statement.

5. I'll mail my stub to any Clevelander who wants it.
Just PM me and it's yours.

It's from a Dayton movie theater but doesn't state that; it's a plain-vanilla stub from National Ticket Co. with the date, time, and "Fahrenheit" on the front.
