Dear Oregon Activists,

Our country needs your help to save the Filibuster from being NUKED by Senate Republicans, including our own Gordon Smith.

For the last 217 years our system of Checks and Balances has been safe from partisan abuse. Bill Frist and his right-wing Republican allies want to change that and eliminate the U.S. Senate's right to Filibuster inappropriate and unqualified judicial nominees.

Just yesterday, Gordon Smith said he would support Frist's efforts, but that his support was a "qualified yes" -- meaning he is thinking about changing his mind. We need to make sure Gordon Smith votes with Oregon and against Bill Frist's "Nuclear Option."

This country needs you to join concerned citizens around the country this Thursday and Rally to protect 217 years of Checks and Balances against Bill Frist and his "Nuclear Option."

Help Save the Filibuster Thursday the 21st.

Join the Law students and Professors of Lewis and Clark and the University of Oregon in protesting the Nuclear Option. If we do not act now it will be too late. Bill Frist is taking his message to the airwaves this Sunday, we can not afford to let him go unanswered.
