We need to apply some more pressure on Ron Wyden
He needs to get behind the progressives and support a strong public option.

He has his own health care agenda that does not include any public option, and while it has some merits, it is not what is being considered at this time. We need him to pledge support for legislation thet does include the public option. This may be difficult for him since Blue Cross/Blue Shield is on of his leading contributors.

Tell him what you want.

1. I've already written to him.
Although my letter was in support of single-payer, not of the public option.

2. I spoke with his office again today
They have changed their story slightly once again. I was told that the senator will support a public option if it has "price controls" and open enrollment. So, he is only in favor of a public option only if it is a strong one. Which seems like a really good thing. I was too happy to hear a reasonable person telling me that he would support a public option, and forgot to ask why he is not making a public case for what his office says he will support.
