Jerry Bowyer's an *** - He's going to have Swift Boat Liar on
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 02:24 PM by rmpalmer
I sent this *** an email today with the testimony of another Swift Boat officer who supports Kerry's account and the local paper and WP reference. Asked this of Jerry about his upcoming interview with (I guess O' Neill?).

Jerry, just to keep the record straight. And I hope you're as tough on the author of the book as you are on your callers.

And here's reference I sent him. BTW, I heard one of Lynn's callers say he acted like he hadn't heard of the Chicago Trib's editor Rood's testimony of his service on Swift Boat and backing Kerry testimony. Then he dismissed it as a liberal paper.

http://www.telluridegateway.com/articles/2004/08/20/news/opinion/opinion01.txt

In Colorado, Jim Russell, who participated in Swift boat operations when Kerry did, wrote a letter to the editor of the Telluride Daily Planet to angrily dispute the claim that Kerry was not under enemy fire when he rescued Jim Rassman from the water, a feat that brought Kerry a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

"I was on No. 43 boat, skippered by Don Droz, who was later that year killed by enemy fire," Russell wrote in the letter. "Forever pictured in my mind since that day over 30 years ago John Kerry bending over his boat picking up one of the rangers that we were ferrying from out of the water. All the time we were taking small arms fire from the beach; although because of our fusillade into the jungle, I don't think it was very accurate, thank God. Anyone who doesn't think that we were being fired upon must have been on a different river."

Got this back from Jerry.

I hope that you're as hard on critics of the President's record as you are on those who are critics of Kerry. Can you honestly say that you are?

If anyone catches the show (I only listen to his last hour to hour 1/2 waiting for Lynn to come on, let me know how he treats the liar.

BTW, did anyone hear what Ron Morris did when subbing for Jerry recently? I heard Lynn's callers are pissed at him. Did he have these Swift Boat Liars on?

1. Ron Morris was a joke
He let the liar run rampant, throwing all kinds of lies out without a challenge. Even Lynn was outraged when she got on the air. If I recall the first 30 minutes of her show that day was an all out rant on all the lies that guy was allowed to spew.

You should ask Jerry if he can disprove any of the claims the critics of the President's record come up with.

If Jerry was half the respectable journalist he claims to be, he'd ask these liars why they are to be believed more than the people who were actually on the boat with Kerry.

Hell, if we're going to whip out and compare eyewitness accounts, Jerry should be asked to explain why the only person on record saying Bush showed up for duty in Alabama said Bush was there months before he was transferred. But I guess that would just be dismissed as more evil librul Bush-Bashing....

2.  Bush's critics are to Kerry's critics as perfume is to cow manure.....
As up is to down, as right is to wrong, etc...........Boyer spins the standard party line: "I hope you're as hard on the President's critics.." Why the hell should you be? Junior's critics come armed witn something Kerry's critics do not posess, the truth. There is no equality of circumstance or supposed equal standard of applicable criticsm here. Liars and honest critics are not the same groups of people on the same moral plane. Kerry has eyewitness testimony to his impeccable service. Kerry's critics rely on hearsay and altered recovered memories. I don't see anyone stepping forward to recall Mr. Bush's Alabama service, not even his "brave heroism" in the dentist's chair when faced with the drill. Pathetic.

3. He had O' Neill on Wed - did anyone catch?
I missed it - I usually catch him at 9 just cause I'm in the car on the way to work and I'm waiting to get to Lynn, but I hear him talking about the interview. My impression is he wasn't very tough on him.

4. You're right Jerry Bowyer is an a**
Earlier this year Jerry, Lynn Cullen, and "Uncle Dougie" had what they called a "blabathon" at the Monroeville Mall. I stopped by to watch for a while, and I had to leave because I wanted to go up and slug Jerry.

He spouted statistics and "facts" that he literally pulls out of his a**. Whenever Lynn made a point he demanded that she quote the source, and when she did, he questioned the source.

Jerry is a smarmy, arrogant little jerk.

5. I remember that
That really turned my opinon of Jerry, before he really seemed like a fairly adjusted guy for a republican, but after seeing him turn frothing-mouth attack dog really made it clear how scummy he is.

However he did use a time honored Fox Newsian attack plan: conservatives can spout all sorts of outlandish bullshit and we're supposed to believe them because conservatives are trustworthy. Liberals, on the other hand, must cite every source chapter and verse if they try to suggest water is wet.
