Corbett & cabinet turned on by open toe shoes! Just like the nuns told you!
In parochial high school, in wasn't just low cut or strapless prom gowns that were forbidden. There was one nun who told the girls never to wear shoes which showed their toes, because that "cleavage" between toes got the guys all excited. Being a nun, she never used the phrase "hard-on". And we all know that Corbett was raised and remains a practicing Catholic. (In interests of full disclosure, I am a recovered Catholic.) So NO open toed shoes, ladies, and no bare legs, either. Even if you have on slacks, you have to wear panyhose with them!

If Corbett & cabinet are so concerned about men getting excited, why not issue a medication code? No Viagra! That would solve the problem for most of those old farts!

At state Welfare Department, a detailed dress code for women (headline)
Closed-toe shoes and pantyhose are de rigueur (sub-headline)

HARRISBURG -- Appearances matter, your mother always told you. One of Gov. Tom Corbett's cabinet members wants to reinforce that message.

In a pair of memos in recent months, Welfare Secretary Gary Alexander has laid out do's and don'ts for his executive-level staff when it comes to dressing for work.

Some are obvious: No flip-flops, sweatpants, tattered jeans, halter tops, short skirts, or skorts. And no beach attire.
Others may defy explanation for the female 45-and-under crowd: No open-toed shoes, please. And panty hose or tights are a must, which, taking the next logical step, presumes leaving your dress slacks at home.

A spokesman for Mr. Alexander said Friday that the guidelines were meant only to remind employees to always project a professional image when representing the department.

1. The Onion? Secretary Eli Avila told to wear head covering - his fat bald head looks like

a (fill in the blank), and that could excite female and gay staffers. Just kidding about the Onion, folks - but this spin would fit right in with the ban on open toed shoes for women. Avila - the arrogant SOB who harrassed a Capitol Hill diner owner/chef about eggs & sicced a Health Dept. inspector on the small business man - is a poster boy, literally and figuratively for the term "dick head".

Avila is also a prime example of Corbett outsourcing a top level, high-paying Pennsylvania government job. He was a deputy (i.e., second fiddle) health commissioner for a county in New York, when Corbett tapped him to run the Health dept. for the entire state of Pennsylvania. With our major medical centers in Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Hershey, etc., there are many in-state doctors as qualified as this upstate New York doctor to serve on the governor's cabinet. You know, medical professionals who have dedicated their lives to the health and welfare of Pennsylvanian citizens. Corbett earlier appointed a New Jersey/retired-to-Florida man, whose son is Corbett's chief of staff, as head of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission.

To paraphrase an old song, "Nice work if you can get it, and you can get it if you have a political connection to Corbett." Note that this 70 year old guy spent his working life in New Jersey, and retired to and now resides in Vero Beach, Florida. Guess he'll jet up monthly for Commission meetings. Or maybe he'll just phone it in! I'd say this also goes in the - OUTSOURCE A PENNSYLVANIAN JOB column.

Road masters: Political connections still surface at the turnpike
Sunday, March 20, 2011
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Here we go again, a trip down memory lane at the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission, where the top job traditionally has been held by a political crony of the governor.

The five-member turnpike commission on Tuesday unanimously appointed the father of Gov. Tom Corbett's chief political strategist as its new chief executive officer.

Roger E. Nutt, 70, of Vero Beach, Fla., father of Mr. Corbett's former chief of staff Brian Nutt . . . will earn $196,700 a year (for basically attending monthly meetings in Harrisburg).

2. How soon does Sharia law start being enforced?
I am glad to hear that panty hose are required. It makes it much harder for the men to get out of them quickly. Oh---men are not required to wear panty hose? Well, that sucks.
