ONE theater in Western PA?
ONE? Farenheit/911 is playing in about ten theaters in PA, and only one is in Western PA. There is one in State College, and the rest are all in the east. Christ, this side of the state gets the short end of every stick!

Where the hell is Moosic, anyway?

4. NOOOOOOOO
You can't go there..... It is a EVIL Place....
Stay Home this side of the Susquehanna River....
They have Roads without Potholes, Jobs, Rail transit Between big Cities and even LIBERAL POLITIC ANS
A totally EVIL place. How can you live without hitting a pothole? Standing in traffic on the Parkway or using our three stop subway (Which only goes to South Hills Village Mall not another Major City?
DON'T Go (You might like it and NEVER come back).

9. Oh, I rarely venture east of the Susquehanna.
It's too much of a pain to drive there from here!

Amazing - you make your way from here to Carlisle, and you feel like a pioneer in a covered wagon. Once you hit Carlisle, it's like you're on your way to the Emerald City or something. The roads are beautiful!

The East is more like a different country, rather than just the other side of the state.

12. Yes when I go out there it FRIGHTENING
East of Carlisle you get these these objects that are marked as if their were a four lane highway each of the lane is TWICE as wide as such lanes in Western Pa. Than they have something on the side of these roads, something other than a hillside or a cliff, I think it is called a "berm". I have seen them in other parts of the country I heard they are to park your car if it breaks down. This is a waste of a good road surface, In Western Pa we just leave the broke down car in the middle of the road. How else are to to encourage that Western Pa sound of people honking their horns to get a broke down car moving.

As I said stay away from those areas, if you go to them to often you may start to think such things like wide lanes and berms are NORMAL for highways when as a Native Western Pennsylvanian we both know these are UN-NATURAL EVIL Things.

Edited on Thu Jun-10-04 08:55 PM by happyslug
Mount Lebanon, PA Denis Theatre 4
The Denis is on Washington Road (US 19) just up from the Mt Lebanon Streetcar Stop (If you are old time streetcar rider like me, just North of the Old Clearview Loop)

Pittsburgh, PA Squirrel Hill Cinema 6 I grew up in the South Hills so I have no idea where in Squirrel Hill this is at but it is in Pittsburgh

Moosic is outside Scranton and thus OUTSIDE Western Pennsylvania:
Address:
40 Glenmaura National Blvd.
Moosic, PA 18507.

8. How did I miss Mt. Lebanon?
I even know where that is! Boy, that Moosic must be a pretty big town, huh? ;)

Okay, so there are two theaters in W. PA. We're still on the short end of the stick, no? Are you going to make the pilgrimage to see the flick? I'm going to contact the Squirrel Hill cinemas, maybe try to catch a Saturday matinee.

11. I might
My Mother's house is on the old Beechview Streetcar track and I went to the Denis once or twice when I was a teenager (I either walked to took the Streetcar to the Theater). Now this was before the owners gutted it and made it into four small Theaters in the 1980s (I have NOT been back to it since this "Improvement"). It was a nice Theater, easy to get to by Car, Streetcar or even by foot.

By the way When PAT re-built the South Hills Streetcar line in the 1980s, PAT removed the Streetcar tracks from Washington Road and drilled a Tunnel under Washington Road so the streetcars no longer had to travel on Washington Road (US19). The present Mt Lebanon Stop is BEHIND the Denis Theater and just a short walk away.

If I go I like to go with someone..... There is a nice Chinese's Restaurant up the Street we can go afterwords.

15. I never did get around to calling the cinema today.
I'm gonna try to get to a Saturday matinee - not terribly glamorous but that's the story of my life! Or else wait till it comes out on DVD - I hope they get that out before November.

everyone just watch out for corry,pa

13 cops for 7500 people
arrest you for swearing
" for riding double on bicycle

""""""""" arguing with a teacher, actual cop at h.s. with loaded gun, kids arrested EVERY day there for ANY little offense, trying to get rid of any dissenter's that may cause cut in funding I guess.

Hate that my nieces , nephews going there and in few years grandson will be also. Nazis r' us is school motto I believe. A kid is not encouraged to think for themselves by many of the teachers or curriculum.

Sad situation.

And the roads here in western Pa SUCK!

Welcome emma!!!

19. Add Star City in Bridgeville and Destintas in N. Versailles
I'm happy about the latter. Not far from my house.

I'm hoping we DU'ers in Western PA can pick a theater, date and showing and get together to see this movie. And maybe a coffe shop or gathering somewhere after to discuss.
