1. I remember when I wanted klink to win...
Bah! I'm glad he didn't now...Doesn't look like his endorsement will do specter any good. Didn't the repugs want someone more zealous than arlen?

5. Can't say I blame him
I mean, the party left him with his dick in his hands the last time he was in the race, I can't blame him for not wanting to support the party that wouldn't support him.

6. I agree...

people have short memories. Klink lost to Santorum by only a few points despite not receiving any money or support from the party. He may have one if the party hadn't given up on the race before it started.

THis makes me wonder if Heoffel didn't do squat to help him out in 2k.

7. Klink is nothing but a Republican which is why he lost to Santorum
when you compared him side by side with Santorum he was the same old story but with a D after his name.

I for one didn't like him because he had that "chip on my shoulder" syndrome...instead of trying to win the hearts and minds of the voters he whined about how Philly wasn't helping him...

He actually screwed us by giving up his solid seat in congress and since then it has been lost to repukes.

First rule of politics...even if things are not going your way...don't blame your party...it makes you look like a loser.

8. Even a Republican would be better than Santorum
Klink would have been a vast improvement over Captain Dogsex, but the party decided not to give him any support.

10. and a lot of it had to do with his lack of political savvy
and with his endorsement of Specter..he has nailed his coffin shut completely in the party.

9. With Democrats like this...
who needs Republicans.

I can assure you, this is one Pennsylvanian who will be voting for both Kerry and Hoeffel!

12. Klink a clunker
Klink was such a bad candidate. His commercials were all about that he never went to college because he couldn't afford it. I don't know what point he was trying to make. If he'd ever wanted an education, he could have worked and gone to night school the way I got my bachelor's and master's degrees. If he'd been running against a reasonably moderate Republican instead of Santorum, I wouldn't have voted for Klink.

My apologies for dumping, but I really questioned the sanity of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party for nominating him. IIRC, he was anti-abortion, pro-machine guns, with a rightist voting record as a rep, but I could be wrong. At any rate, I don't know what Democrats would be influenced by his endorsement.

14. Klink guest hosted on Lynn Cullen's show today
On WPTT AM 1360.

His reasoning can be summed up thusly:

1. He backed Specter because he's a businessman now and Specter throws the small businesses in PA a few scraps.

2. He contends the part didn't support him against Santorum because he was a pro-life Democrat and people couldn't get past that.

He actually came off as fairly progressive except for his selfish reasons for backing Specter, its a shame he got ran out of politics.
