1. Early reports will favor Corker
because East Tennessee, where he is from, is in Eastern time zone and Ford's home city of Memphis is an hour behind on Central time.

6. Exactly
So hopefully Memphis and that general area will help put Ford as the winner.

5. Democrats sweep Stewart County, Montgomery extends to handle heavy turnout

Election results delayed, voters still in line
Heavy turnout even as polls close
Leaf-Chronicle staff reports

The polls have officially closed, but election results may be delayed as some voters are still in line.

At Hazelwood Elementary School, a North Clarksville precinct, there are reports of voters having at least another hour wait before they get to vote.

Amy Schaeffer, who stood in line for about three hours, said she was determined to vote.

"I'm voting no matter what," she said, adding that some people opted to not vote rather than wait.

Local Elections Administrator Vickie Koelman said she has fielded complaints about the lines, but says they're because of turnout - not problems with the voting machines.
