Richard Morrison one of Deans Dozen! YEAHHHHHHHH!
Richard Morrison, candidate against tom delay, has been announced as one of Howard Deans dozen. These are twelve diverse candidates that represent the spirit of grassroots democracy. These will be tough races, and not all of the Dean Dozen may win. However, they will all spread the message that to change America progressives must compete.

Well all I can say is YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

1. He is already getting a lot of donations from Dean/DFA people.
I admired his statements after The Hill article, and we donate then.

There will be more later, but his race is just vital.

6. Email from Morrison
You're doing it! We're doing it! Thanks to the hundreds of patriotic Americans who heard about my campaign on the Majority Report on Air America Radio, DailyKos.com, the Texas Blog Burst, and DemocracyforAmerica this campaign is exploding!

Thank you so much -- in order to win this race I need the help of every concerned, patriotic American -- Democrat, Independent and Republican alike. We might not agree on every issue, but we can all agree that Tom DeLay's brand of partisan extremism and big money politics needs to go!

I've been asked if local voters shouldn't be alarmed because of all the support I'm getting from outside the district. Well, I'll be glad to compare my contributors -- the vast majority of whom are regular Americans making $10, $20 and $50 donations -- with Tom DeLay's huge hauls from out of state corporations and PACs

Because of DeLay's corporate backers, it's certainly an uphill fight. I'm taking on Tom DeLay the man many consider to be the most powerful in America. But I'm not afraid of Mr. DeLay, because I'm talking to voters in the district every day and I'm consistently hearing that people are tired of ugly partisanship and want to see their interests represented in Congress.

And this campaign is definitely a grassroots effort -- we've got hundreds of local volunteers already and are signing up more everyday. We are on track to have a volunteer captain in every precinct. If you live in the district, please see our volunteer update below and get involved.

We are nearing our goal of raising $100,000 this month. Please click the link below and contribute, with your help we'll make it!

thank you,

Richard Morrison

Volunteer Update from Melissa Taylor, Volunteer Coordinator

There are many exciting things happening in the Morrison campaign.

NEW VOLUNTEER PAGE. We have launched a new Volunteer page that will answer many questions about how to get involved with the campaign. We will soon add a Volunteer Toolkit that will include precinct organizing information/training, downloadable flyers, and other helpful information.

PRECINCT LEADERS. We are still signing people up as Precinct Leaders. If you live in the district and you are committed to organize your precinct for Richard Morrison and other progressive Democrats in November, please contact your area organizer. If you live outside the district but are willing to organize a precinct in the district, please contact Melissa. This is part of our Adopt-a-Precinct program.

STATE DELEGATES. The campaign is offering a free Morrison t-shirt to all state delegates who commit to wearing it on the floor of the Democratic State Convention in Houston on Saturday, June 19th. If you are a delegate, please email Melissa with your shirt size. If you are not a delegate but will be attending the convention, please sign up to help us staff the Richard Morrison booth at the convention in 3 - 4 hours shifts. Email Melissa with your interest.

UPCOMING EVENTS. We are becoming very active in our communities. We need your help to show that this campaign is alive and active. Please check out the events and join our efforts to reach many different communities, impact this race, and have a bit of fun. This calendar is updated daily. If you know of a community event that good outreach potential, please contact Melissa.

7. Funding for this race has to go national
grass roots.

We can do it! We CAN get rid of DeLay!

I'm an Arizonan but just made my third donation to Richard Morrison.

Get the word out - we CAN beat Delay - and send one of the good guys to DC to take his seat.

8. Great News-I hope that Delay is defeated
Delay needs to go. He has worn out his welcome and had abused Houston and Harris county. I hope that he is defeated in November.
