Arrested at Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison's Dallas Office
http://www.ntimc.org/newswire.php?story_id=3456

(Not me, but got this via an email list I'm on-the writer is from Fort Worth)

<snip>
I would love to say my reason for visiting the senator's office was as admirable as voicing my objection to the 2000th soldier killed in Iraq. Alas, my reason was less honorable. I was perplexed when Mrs. Hutchison stated on Meet the Press that Rove's perjury was a "technicality" while Clinton's was worthy of impeachment. I wanted to voice my dismay in person.

It was unlikely I would be able to just drop in and have an audience with a US Senator, so I expected to speak only to her office staff. Every letter I have sent to Mrs. Hutchison has been answered with a form letter. I wanted to feel *heard* just once.

Once I was finished visiting the Senator's office, I planned to go back outside to talk to the protesters. I wanted to know if they were there to protest the 2000th soldier killed in Iraq (as I had heard rumored) or if they were there for a different reason. As crazy as it sounds, when I see people taking time out of their busy lives to protest, I want to find out why.

I never got a chance to meet the people protesting because I was handcuffed, taken to jail, strip searched, held for 12 hours and finally released on $500 bail at 2am. Statements from the Senator's office defending this action proclaimed that there was a history of illegal activities against the Senator and that only those with appointments were being allowed entry during a protest.

1. That's why I call Senator Hutchinson

Was the charge a felony? In the state of Texas, one can only be strip-searched if one is charged with a felony. If the charge is a misdemeanor, they are not allowed to strip search by law only frisk....

2. Isn't she suppose to work for us?
Just who the hell does she think she works for, oh yeah the GOP.
She isn't our representative, she only represents the GOP, by the GOP, for the GOP.
I haven't seen one piece of legislation that has benefited my interest.

She is a "Corporate Whore", plain and simple.
She works for Enron, Halliburton, Exxon-Mobil''s interest.

Go bugger yourself KBH.

As for the person arrested, it took courage to confront our senator, only to be confronted with arrest.
What a sorry POS KBH is for calling the COPs.

I believe she's up for re-election, let's send to packing. Then she can join her husband's law firm so she can continue to screw us over, as her husband has by representing corporations like Enron.

3. Please join us in our call for statewide actions in front of all of KBH
offices. www.meetwithKBH.org

We want open town hall meetings, Kay. We are your constituents, we have lots of questions and we want some answers. Please try to remember, Ms. Hutchinson, you work for us (the taxpayers; Republicans, Democrats, Independents and dis-illusioned non-voters). We pay for your offices', we pay your expenses and we pay your salary. As responsible employers we believe we have the right to ask questions of your positions and how you intend to represent "us" in Washington.

4. Welcome to DU Citrene!
Our best bet is if we the employers of KBH, would give her a big fat pink slip. But that being said, no reason not to keep the heat on her. I still write, call and complain because she is supposed to work for us.
