Uh, ok, so did anyone see that Scott Chase, who
was running to be the Dem nominee for Dallas County Commissioner lost by 30-some odd votes in the primaries to ROSE RENFROE?

He has asked for a recount, since it was so close.

But are you FREAKING kidding me???? I like to keep up with my old county and I love this guy, he's great. I cannot BELIEVE that Rose Renfroe would get the nom. No way. No fucking way. Huh-uh.

What the hell happened with THAT? Does anyone know? Egads. Some repukes voted in our primary, it seems. And voted for her. Assholes.

1. Well,
she was listed on the ballot as Rose "Rosita" Renfroe.

Smart. She automatically gets the "If I don't know I'll vote for a woman" AND the "If I don't know I'll vote for the Hispanic" votes.

Hopefully Chase will win the recount. :toast:

2. Yeah, I noticed that "Rosita" thing on the ballot.
Funny I heard it wasn't present on a single one of her signs or campaign literature.

I'm still suspicious. She's fucking wacked. Why would ANYONE vote for her? And Chase had the better campaign--more visible, more activity.

10. She used robo-calls, too
She did automated calls on election day, from a "concerned neighbor," making some vague accusation about "my opponent." She sent out tons of mailers, too, using the "some people say" ploy to claim that surveys showed she had the better chance of winning in November. No statistics, no footnotes referencing the "survey," just a plain old load of bullshit.

She and Scott Chase both came to the precinct party I had in February. Scott Chase talked about bringing homeland security money to neighborhood groups, and train the existing crime watch groups to be first responders in case of national emergency. What a great idea! "Rosita" came late to the party, after nearly everyone had left, and talked to me about her cats. Yep, that's all she talked about, cats. She asked how many of her cats she should put in her publicity photos. I told her, "Hey, put 'em all in." I mean, the voters should know exactly what they're getting, right?

My cat ventured out to have a look at her, and ran back to his hiding place under the bed, where he stayed until she she left.

I was planning on voting for whoever won the primary, until I saw her deceptive postcards and heard her "Rovian" phone message. Now, I just won't cast a vote for County Commissioner.

3. Where did you hear the news about the recount?
I've heard about his call for a recount from a number of people, but nothing on the DMN website. I'm not surprised though, because he told a number of us on Saturday that he was going to do so. Soon as it's official, his sign is going back up in my yard.

Yeah, this was my biggest WTF moment of the election. Even the DMN, which endorsed him, was shocked. I'm tellin' ya, stupid people voted, and the people qualified to make an intelligent decision stayed home.:grr:

6. An email I got directly from his campaign.
Here's the text of it:

Dear Voter,

I want to thank everyone who helped with and gave support to my campaign! We ran a tough race, and in the end finished only 34 votes shy of victory.

Because of the extremely small margin, I asked the Dallas County Elections Department to hold a recount and that should occur within the next several days. I will let everyone know the results of this endeavor.

Your words of comfort and support have meant a great deal to Debra and me over the last few days.

4. Check out this DallasArena blog
I just now came across this...
Several elections were decided in Tuesday Primary Elections, because only one party had candidates in some races. Other races were decided because one party picked the wrong person to carry their banner in November, like Rose Renfroe and Craig Watkins, who will be easily defeated.
The biggest loss to the Democrats Tuesday night was former Councilwoman Rose Renfro defeating Attorney Scott Chase by 30 VOTES to be the Democrats' nominee for Dallas County Commissioner and oppose incumbent Commissioner Ken Mayfield. Scott Chase is one of the most decent people I have ever met in all my years in politics. For him to lose to Rose Renfro is flat out wrong. Scott would have been a real challenge to Ken Mayfield. Renfro has so much baggage from her days on the council, Mayfield will eat her for lunch.

8. Awww, fudge!
Renfroe stays winner after primary recount

Rose Renfroe's close victory in the Democratic primary for Dallas County commissioner will stand, after a recount Tuesday failed to change the outcome.

Scott Chase, her opponent in the District 4 seat, requested the recount after he lost the March primary by 38 votes.

It looks like the Democratic takeover of Commissioner's Court 4 will have to wait. Renfroe will be eaten alive by the repuke incumbent, and she sure as hell won't get my vote!!!:grr:
