Pilot was hotdogging it in that private plane crash in Burnet county on
Sunday. He was buzzing up and down the canyons and creekbeds when a wing broke off the plane. He called dispatch in Burnet and said that they were going to die. I took people to task on Sunday when the crash was reported for doubting this person's brain because he was from Texas. Well, only a real brain dead person would think that taking this kind of risk was entertainment. Now he and his 18 year old son are dead and there is a grieving family left behind to cope. Very sad.

2. We almost had another crash here in Austin.
Soome poor guy's engine cut out on him and he had to make an emergency landing at our OLD airport. No damage though.

It's a shame when someone's stupidity leads to loss of life.

4. I can't say I blame you.
Although, learning to fly has been a goal of mine for a long time. Too bad I'm just a poor state employee. :eyes::nopity:

5. I did not know that.
For years I have been hearing the " no old/bold pilots " saying.
I don't think even Chuck Yeager would have done something that careless.
Its too bad he had to take his son with him.

I don't know any private pilot who would have done something like that.
If someone wants thrills they should take up crop dusting.
Favorite question to a crop duster pilot is " do you fly over the powerlines - or under them ? "
