Wall Street Journal Poll, Perry leads Bell by only 5 points, C4n3p's toast

The new Wall Street Journal-Zogby Poll (here: http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/info-elections06.html) shows Perry crashing to 30.7% while Bell soars to 25.3% as Kinky remains a spoiler and C4n3p continues to flat-line:

30.7% - James "Rick" Perry
25.3% - Chris Bell
22.4% - Richard "Kinky" Friedman
11.1% - Carole "Toast" Strayhorn
2.6% - James Werner

I am tapped out on donations, but then again, you watch Chris work a crowd even after being up since 4 in the morning and you just have to donate!

I keep telling people to seriously consider how a vote for Kinky is in reality more a vote against Bell than against Goodhair, but... sigh...

3. I have been spreading the word throughout our area

Trouble is, most haven't heard of him.
I have convinced every Democrat that I have come within 5 ft in these parts that a vote for anyone but Bell is a vote for Perry.
That scares the shit out of them.
One comment that I got was that the teachers weren't sold on him.

4. He spoke to the Houston...

Federation of Teachers and I think it is safe to say he got all our votes. Chris Bell will be a good governor. God willing we will target a few more legislators and hand him a better group to work with. With the educator to voter campaign, we got 15 out of 17 of the more obnoxious GOP removed. Not only do we vote...we phone bank, donate, write letters, and walk the blocks.
