Dallas Kerry/Edwards yard signs: "If I Had a Hammer..."
If you Dallas DUers start seeing Kerry/Edwards yard signs popping up in your neighborhoods, chances are that ginbarn and I helped build them!

We spent most of Saturday with the folks at Dallas County Democratic Party HQ near Fair Park making yard signs and manning the phone bank. I probably turned out around 100-or-so signs, but there's a reason I call Ginny "my better half" - she was a machine! I have no idea how many she cranked out, but it was substantial.

If you want a yard sign of your own, they're asking for a $3 donation per sign to cover the costs of printing (and to crank out even more yard signs). You can either visit them at 4209 Parry Avenue in Dallas or call them at (214) 821-8331. You can also visit them on the Web at http://www.dallasdemocrats.org.

1. Tarrant County HQ finally has some. We were on a
waiting list for 3 weeks. Now the Kerry signs are popping up everywhere in Fort Worth. Ours cost $5.

2. Cool!
Looks like we'll see all of Dallas/Ft. Worth blooming with Kerry/Edwards signs on Labor Day! (At least, I certainly hope so...)

3. Got any good ideas that would make yard sign thefts
a little uncomfortable? How about coating the sticks with Vaseline or grease?

4. Dirty Rotten Sons-a-goats
Here in Fort Bend, they've been tearing down our 4 by 4 foot signs by cutting the ties on the t-posts and carting them away. We've put a camera on one of them and are just waiting.

One of our club members - he's 88 years old - stood in his kitchen window at about 9:30 and saw some guys drive up into his yard just to run over his Kerry sign. He called the police.

They are starting to piss me off.

5. Same here in Dallas (Pete Sessions)
Workers for Congressman Pete Sessions (R, 32nd Congresional District) have been accused of stealing and tearing down signs for Democratic challenge Martin Frost. They're even accused of posting some of the stolen signs at the school where Sessions' son goes to make it look like the Frost campaign is intimidating him.

Sessions admitted to tearing down signs for a previous challenger during the last campaign, saying that the signs he took down were planted in a public right-of-way and that Texas law forbids placing campaign signs in right-of-ways. But when it comes to signs being ripped off from people's own yards, that's something totally different.

In other words - SLIMEBALL ALERT!

7. If you see any signs down
call the campaign office, and call the police.

Time to stop putting up with this childish vandalism.

I've called on two in my neighborhood alone.

:grr:
