1. Do you thing the Woolly Mammoth will really show this time?
No offense meant to those great creatures of pre-historic times, which Arlene doesn't think really existed anyway.

2. I didn't understand what happened last time,... it wasn't clear to me
if she jacked around on purpose or it was a miscommunication. In any event, this ought to be good.

I noticed yesterday that some organization filmed the Sessions/Frost debate and showed it on Cspan. Wonder if they'll do the same for this?

3. hope so, this I would like to see
There should be a big difference between the clarity, intelligence and strength that Chet Edwards will show and the bu$h behavior that Arlene will emulate.

4. Article from FW Star-Telegram
http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/news/politics/9711453.htm
Wohlgemuth charged Edwards with waffling on the assault weapons ban, saying that Edwards is against the ban now, but voted in favor of it 10 years ago. Wohlgemuth said she has always been against the ban and continues to receive favorable reviews by the National Rifle Association for her stand.

"The Second Amendment says we have a right to keep and bear arms. I'm in complete support of that. I hold an A rating with the National Rifle Association, My opponent has an F," Wohlgemuth said.

Edwards said he voted in favor of the ban when it was passed 10 years ago in hopes that it might save lives in cases involving mentally ill assailants. He said he has not flip-flopped, but changed his position based on information that was unavailable when the ban first passed. Recent data on the ban showed it did not decrease the nation's crime rate, he said.

"Only an ideologue would believe that a change in facts over a decade would be a flip-flop," he said. "Perhaps I haven't had a 100 percent record with the NRA, but I've voted for them two out of three times; I've also been a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and I will continue to do so."

5. What a horrible article
The whole issue for purposes of this article was guns?

The debate was an hour long and according to this lazy writer:
"Other questions were about the candidates' positions on border issues, job creation and health care."

Bill Teeter, however couldn't get passed the gun issue to cover any other points. Pathetic.

6. Hurricane Arlene
She single-handedly wiped out four years of legislative efforts in Texas with a "point of order" motion because one of her pet anti-abortion projects didn't make it past the legislature. Why she's still in office is totally beyond me - Wolgemuth apparently hates Texas with a passion.
