Richard Morrison, Tom DeLay, and Mayor Bill White.
OK. My calls to Bill Whites' campaign office has been ignored.

Can someone confirm that Bill White was a guest speaker at a Tom DeLay fundraiser which netted $40,000 which will go to help defeat other Democrats in the State?

When I heard of this, I had just spent 6 hours preparing and walking in a parade, trying to keep up with Richard Morrison (DeLays opponent) who tried his darnest to shake every single hand on the 3 mile parade route.

Richard is hard to keep up with! Our parade entry 20 of us, was tired. We worked hard. Walked every step of the parade, while the damn idiot deLay rode in a Mercedes Convertible.

And then we hear about Bill White kissing Tom DeLay's ass.

Needless to say, I am pissed, and I have had 5 beers. Pissed and lit.

Someone send a pizza.

1. Virtual pizza sent your way John
I'm going to be pissed too if White has turned. And of all the f**king repukes to work for - Tom DeLay? WTF? Please, please say it isn't so.

Thank you for working so hard for Morrison, John, it will pay off I just know it will.

You are one of our heroes working at ground zero TX.

Sonia

2. I am so fucking sick and tired of being stabbed in the back
by these goddamn Vichy Democrats!

I am not naive. I understand that the mayor of a large city needs to be on civil terms with a congressman who "represents" part of that city. But to help that virulent nazi scumsucking bastard DeLay raise funds when he for the first time has a serious opponent---an opponent who CAN and WILL win if we all make our maximum effort puts him at the same level of criminal behavior as Benedict Arnold or Judas Iscariot.

John, I share your pain. Tom DeLay robbed me of effective political representation---the whole reason our forefathers founded this country two centuries ago.

I am an unrepentant Dean Democrat. While the dangers of our current emergency dictate that we all stick together until the danger of actual dictatorship is defeated, there will yet be a settling of accounts between the Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party and the quislings.

3. Confirm or Deny?
"So he can raise $$ for DeLay" is NOT among the reasons I supported White.

John - have you been able to confirm or deny this report?

5. Apperently White believes that Morrison has no chance
I would tend to agree with him. The only chance he had was if DeLay had been indicted, which did not happen. Anything short of that, it is unlikely that this heavily Republican district is going to elect a Democrat.

6. It will never happen
As long as we are continually stabbed in the back by these fucking quislings and their apologists.

7. I still believe
There's gotta be SOME way it can happen.

Maybe the scientists among us can narrow it down to a magic formula, like:

R - e < D(o.f.) + (.2Mhs +.05V)(TV)

Where R equals likely Republican voters
and
"e" equals those too embarrassed to vote for such an obvious crook
and
D equals likely Dem voters, multiplied by the o.f. (outrage factor)
and
MHhs equals "Morrison Handshakes" -- usual nonvoters who decide to vote because they liked Richard when they met him face-to-face, and believe you me, he's out to shake every right hand in the five-county area if he can get to it, then if he has time he'll go back for the left hands
and
V are those people who have warm fuzzies from contact with happy Morrison Volunteers
and
TV is the reinforcement they got from the warm fuzzy Morrison TV ads...

C'mon guys, it's GOTTA work! :)

8. It would take a major scandal
Some campaign finance hanky-panky by his staffers isn't going to do it. It has to be something that really outrages their sensibilities.

9. Don't you have your own state forum in which to spread doom and gloom?
Richard Morrison is fighting a tough fight against one of the most evil scumbags in the country. If you can't wish him well, the least you can do is not crap all over him.

11. There are far more important races in Texas
Races where Democrats actually have a shot at winning. If you really want to stick it to DeLay, foil his redistricting efforts by supporting candidates like Martin Frost, Chet Edwards, and Charlie Stenholm. These guys actually have a reasonable shot at winning. Otherwise you are just p***ing in the wind.

12. Now that's the spirit!
Nothing like a good old "Zell Miller" attitude.

The money raised by White will NOT go to DeLay. He will be giving it to other Republicans to defeat Democrats who have a chance of winning such as Martin Frost, Chet Edwards, and Charlie Stenholm.

13. Apperently his priorities are
getting more federal funds for Houston rather than electing a Democratic majority of the US House.

14. And nothing like whoring to do it
When good faith negotiations and common sense fail, it is time to get on your knees.

It is better to die on my feet then live on my knees.

10. I hope that Mayor Bill White
is aware of what the Texas Democrats are doing in Texas to the likes of those like him and that we will support another Democrat to run against him next time.

Morrison is getting a lot of support from people outside of his district and I will not forget to support another Democrat running against White.

I still think Morrison can win if the Houston polls are only representing likely voters. Morrison is a hero in every respect.
