Impeaching Texas Legislators
Now that 32 indictments have been handed down to people in and around Tom Delay's PAC is there any chance that the legislators that took money from his PAC can or will be impeached?

3. I doubt it! If they had included Delay, maybe, but they didn't.
I'd like to see them go after the redistricting being illegal. That would get a whole bunch of 'em. I thought someone had filed a suit about that, but I haven't heard anything recently.

4. Same problem in Texas...
... as nationally. Who runs things? And, one would have to prove that the legislators receiving money from that PAC were aware it had been obtained from an illegal source--that's going to be much more difficult to do.

What would be nice, however, is if enough Republicans were in jail that they couldn't form a majority. Then we'd have the interesting spectacle of them running off somewhere to prevent a quorum. :P

6. There is an excellent chance that we will
kick out at least 2 of those House Reps (Travis) that took illegal money. One Todd "Bastard" Baxter (R) and one Jack "I don't know Jack" Stick (R) here in Travis, are on their way out. "I don't know Jack" Stick still doesn't understand campaign finance and ethics. Just the other day he was caught asking for money from the insurance industry on state property.

Fund-raising pitch becomes issue
Stick: I won't accept donations from them

The meeting room at the Hobby State Office Building was filled with insurance industry insiders and lobbyists, even some prosecutors and state employees, all present to discuss how to get tougher laws passed to curb insurance fraud.

"We could use your financial support, your financial support, your financial support -- and, if you're interested, we could also use your help with yard signs, phone calls," he recalls telling the group, in what he said he considered a "humorous" reference. "A lot of them had asked me what they could do to help."

As government watchdog groups and some participants in the meeting questioned Thursday whether Stick had crossed an ethical line, the first-term Austin lawmaker retracted his appeal -- as he described it, "in the interest of continuing to operate my campaign in the highest ethical standards, as I always have."

-------------------
Jack "I'm dumb as a stick" Stick. We certainly can do better than that. Mark Strama should kick his ass out of the house this Nov. And running against the heartless bastard Baxter is one great candidate Kelley White.

7. Too much corruption in this state
It will probably have to be handled the old civil rights way - when the state goes corrupt send in the feds to clean up. In a couple weeks perhaps kerry will have that done.
