Lampson press conferenc re: RNC ad blaming him for 9/11 attacks
Slimy repub bastards. I'll post anything I get after the press conference. (sorry for the caps- it's not mine)

U.S. REPRESENTATIVES LAMPSON AND TURNER TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE WITH POLICE OFFICERS/FIREFIGHTERS TO RESPOND TO TELEVISION AD CLAIMING LAMPSON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR 9/11 ATTACKS
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 17, 2004

U.S. REPRESENTATIVES LAMPSON AND TURNER TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE WITH
POLICE OFFICERS/FIREFIGHTERS TO RESPOND TO TELEVISION AD CLAIMING LAMPSON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR 9/11 ATTACKS

WHO: Congressman Nick Lampson (D-TX) and Congressman Jim Turner (D-TX), Ranking Member of the House Select Committee on Homeland Security
Police Officers and Firefighters

WHAT: Press conference regarding the National Republican Congressional Committee's television advertisement claiming that Congressman Lampson is responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks

WHEN: Monday, Oct. 18, 11:00 AM

WHERE: Port of Beaumont, Administration Bldg

WHY: This week the NRCC has released a television advertisement claiming that Congressman Nick Lampson is somehow responsible for the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The advertisement superimposes a picture of
Congressman Lampson next to the World Trade Center exploding, and claims that Lampson's record in Congress is why the attacks happened.
Congressman Lampson's strong, unparalleled record on homeland security stands in stark contrast to the NRCC's outrageous lies, and the smear tactics of the NRCC and their candidate Ted Poe will be discussed at the press conference.

5. Nick is under bombardment, folks
The RCCC is running ads in Houston attacking him for raising taxes and failing to defend families; Ted Poe's plastering the airwaves...

Please, Nick, fight back. Hard. Get the DCCC to help you with some TV in the western half of your district.

I can't watch the GOP hose you go down like this.

6. "It is angering and.. hurtful," says Lampson
BEAUMONT - U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson on Monday called upon his Republican opponent to denounce TV spots that accuse him of thwarting homeland security efforts.

The Republican National Congressional Committee paid for the ad, which Lampson said depicts him and the burning twin towers of the World Trade Center.

snip-

The ads attack Lampson's congressional voting record on homeland security proposals. Lamspon said he voted against an amendment to give the president power to exclude federal employees from certain labor laws, but voted to establish and fully fund the Department of Homeland Security.

"It is angering and it is hurtful," Lampson said.

This is the only story I've seen so far, and it doesn't provide much detail. But I guess you can't expect too much from the Beaumont Enterprise...

But Ted Poe is a "Christian" man who opposes abortion, so all the good little "Christians" are going to support him. :eyes:
